As linhas VSS Pechiney da Votorantim Metais CBA iniciaram a operação em 1977 e ao longo dos anos obtivemos um aumento da vida média das cubas bastante significativa, passando de cerca de 1.300 dias para aproximadamente 3.000 dias. Concomitantemente tivemos uma redução da perda catódica possibilitando uma melhor estabilidade operacional.
Neste trabalho iremos mostrar as ações que foram realizadas e os resultados obtidos.

Pechiney VSS lines of Votorantim Metais CBA start their operation in 1977. Over the years we had an increase in the average lining life of the pots from 1,300 days to 3,000 days. Also a reduction in CVD (Cathode Voltage Drop) allowing us to have a better operational stability.
In this paper we will show what actions were taken and the results obtained.
