Com o início das operações em 1970 a linha de cubas de tecnologia VSS Montecatini da Votorantim Metais - CBA foi projetada para operar com uma corrente de 64 kA. Composta por 174 cubas eletrolíticas, a linha passou por um aumento de corrente de 5 kA, saindo de 65 kA para 70 kA, correspondendo um aumento de 7,7 %.
Neste trabalho iremos mostrar as ações que foram necessárias obter sucesso no aumento de corrente, manter a estabilidade e consolidar a operação da linha com 70 kA.

On the start of operations in 1970 with Montecatini technology, the Pot Line of Votorantim Metais - CBA was designed to operate with a current of 64 kA. Consisting of 174 electrolytic cells, the line went through an increasing of current of 5 kA, from 65 kA to 70 kA, representing an increase of 7.7%.
In this paper we show the actions that were necessary to succeed in increasing of current, to maintain and consolidate the operation of the line with 70 kA.
